Big love all round, now back to sniffing that newborn baby smell in!
The muscles of our uterus, in particular, have both horizontal and vertical rings of muscles, which work in different directions at different times of labour to help birth our babies. In conjunction with a softening and opening pelvic floor, there is harmony between our breath, uterus and pelvic muscles to birth our babies.

This week's classes will focus on harnessing our awareness to listen, feel into and be guided by our body and mind.
Pregnancy is a time to be making choices about what is right for our babies and our bodies. Why not make the time to come to pregnancy yoga and have the time to be with your body and breath?

Sign up is now open, and places are filling, for Round 4, which starts on 19 May. If you are 12 weeks and over, please come join in. Classes have been full recently, so please ensure you book a spot to avoid disappointment. Link in bio.
PELVIC FLOOR
While most of us have heard time and time again about the importance of pelvic floor exercises or building pelvic floor strength (and bladder control), engagement in pregnancy yoga can provide a great support to our pelvic floor, with the added benefit of mindfulness, relaxation and improved balance.
Each class at CPY involves a series of exercises that support and nourish your pelvic floor, assist you with becoming intune and aware of engagement and relaxation of these muscles to assist with supporting you through pregnancy and beyond.
Yoga is a calming, meditative practice that can provide a great support to your pelvic floor strengthening regime.
Classes currently run Mondays afternoons (4-5.30) in Edge Hill (until 17 May) and Wednesday evenings (5.30-7) in Cairns City.
Casual class passes are available.

Feel the LOVE. Release all fear.
Often known as the LOVE hormone, Oxytocin reduces stress, calms you down and helps with pain during labour. Impressively, your baby will also produce oxytocin before and during labour. Oxytocin hangs around after birth too, helping you feel more relaxed, well-nourished and bonded with your baby. It's released, when women feel safe, supported, loved during pregnancy and birth. Finding ways to feel the LOVE and empower your pregnancy and birth experience will help you to harness this love for good...
As I deepen my preparations to birth our next babe earth side, my husband randomly stumbled across this photo, captured moments after our first arrived. This was such a raw, emotion filled, powerful moment. In this moment I realised the full potential of power that could be coursing through my body to allow life to enter this world. I realised that birth, in all its power, could not be any more powerful than me, as it was me. I felt that all the education, supoort from my fellow women, the yoga, the breathing, the journaling, culminated in provided a space and environment for me to fully let go, to surrender to the full force of birth, and experience it, without resistance, hesitation or fear. I was full of anticipation, excitement about what my body could be capable of before hand, and in this moment, I was ecstatic with what I had been able to do.
I know that this isn't every women's journey, but its my wish that every woman, through their life, whether they birth a child or birth some other kind of amazing creation into this world, know their power, are witnessed in their glory, feel supported and support each other.
Third trimester, hey. Feeling all the feels.
Bring it on for another time, to feel this force again, become reacquainted and feel the excitement and anticipation of where it will take me next. Who knows what will be on the other side, when we let go, surrender and go along for the ride...
