Women’s Health Occupational Therapy

Women have unique health needs, and the holistic perspective and person-centred lens of Occupational Therapy (OT) considers the whole person and the things that they need and want to do. OT can support the intersection of what is happening for the person, within their environment and how this might be influencing their engagement in the things they want and need to do (we call these occupations). When supporting women’s health, we can also consider the specific and unique occupational impact of life transitions, or “rites of passage” that women transit in their lifetime or can also support the chronic health conditions that many women live with also.

Sessions with Hollie can support you with:

  • Adaptations to living with chronic conditions, such as Endometriosis, challenges with Menstruation, pelvic pain, intimacy, sex or engaging in daily activities

  • Managing at work, or returning to work

  • Recovery and Scar management support post surgery or child birth

  • Soft tissue or “hand’s on” body work support
